New York
Five days in a city that refuses to be one city.
Emotional identity
New York does not compose — it collides. StoryOS's job is to hold the collisions in a shape: downtown at eleven, Queens at three, a room on the Lower East Side after ten.
Why we haven't launched
There is no single New York. We're writing five — Manhattan below 14th, above 96th, Long Island City, Fort Greene, Sunset Park — and won't launch until they all have the same texture.
What we're studying
- The 45-minute cross-borough moves that don't kill a day
- The bar–restaurant–bar chains that Manhattan does better than anywhere
- Sunday-morning bakery rhythms in five neighbourhoods
